بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Welcome every one.How are you
How is the summer with you
I hope everything is okay
Forgive me about the introduction ~I’m not good at that
This is the first topic here to MET and I hope it will be helpful to you all
~~~~~~~~~~
It will be a small review to all the things that you have done before just to remind you
To learn English you need to practice different types of skills such as: listening- speaking- writing-reading. And to be able to do all of these perfectly you need Grammar
~~~~~~~~~~~
So we are going to start with the Grammar first especially the tenses and the first tense that we have is
Present Simple
Singular and plural
I think we all know that but just to remind you
In the present simple tense
The singular nouns or pronouns take the verb with s
The plural nouns or pronouns take the base verb without addition
~~~~~~~
Plural : We- You - I - They
Singular: He- She - It
She likes reading books
They prefer having spaghetti instead of rice
I work in ABC Company
He draws beautiful birds
Uses
Well, we have a lot of uses to the present simple and here are the important ones
Facts
These facts can be science facts or even facts from our daily life, and that will be much clear by examples
science facts
The water boils at 100ْc. This sentence is fact so we need the present simple
The sun shines from the east. Also this a fact
All these are science facts so we used this tense
Or facts from our daily life
My father works as a doctor
I fear the darkness
These also are facts but from our life and they have nothing to do with science
To describe your feelings
If you want to describe your own feelings you need the present simple and you need this kind of verbs
Love-hate-respect-want ~ And we call them (non-action verbs) I will talk about that later in my lessons
I love my mother
He hates the blue color
She respects her teacher
Possession
Also if you want to talk about possession you need this tense
Jenny owns two cars
Ahmed has five sisters
Sukhee possess small flat
All these sentences we used the present simple to express that someone owns something
~~~~~~~~
Habits
Habit means something you do usually, so to show that you do that action over and over again we use this tense
I play basketball once a week
She eats her lunch at 1:00 every day
Jenny goes shopping twice a month
to be continued
