Cool ~ How to read Literature ~

    Reading Literature

I always wonder about how I can read a
huge number of pages written in English :O
    I
    hate reading ! it's kinda boring !! OMG and English literature.. Z z z z z ~~"

    ..
How can I make my reading funny and interesting ?! l
    That's the
    question : D

    Believe me, reading is the
main source of your back of vocab
And that's not everything, don't ever forget that you
are a member of Iqra'a Umma ( nation of read) ..
and we are the one who should be pioneer in the field of writing and reading..

    What a long introduction ^_^

    How to read literature ?!!!l

    (1)

Choose your favorite type of literary works

Here there are short stories, novellas, novels, plays, poetry

When you are still a beginner, start with the easiest one.. "short stories" for example..

Then you can move towards something more complicated like "novellas" which are
short novels. It's kinda easy and not that much like novels
plays are suitable at this stage too

If you are interested in something
difficultbut enjoyable, then poetry is your way to go..

    (2)

    Choose
    your favorite genre

There are many categories of literature's topics
here are the classification of Wikipedia
    Drama
    Fable Fairy tale Fantasy
Folklore Historical fiction Horror Humor Legend
    Mystery
    Mythology Realistic fiction
    Science fiction

    (3)

    Classic
    vs modern
    literature

There is a classic literature, including masterpiece, famous, successful works
And you can read for "famous" authors..

    Or

Change the ordinary way of choosing works.. there are several stories and novels that not a lot of people know about.. they are written by me, him, her, them,… and you..
    ..
Literature is not only Victorian, Romanticism Shakespearean or even Twentieth century !!

Everyday there's a new story here and there…
So the choice is yours !

    modern literary works

    http://free-online-novels.com/short_stories.html

    (4)

    Choose your copy

    Soft
    copy or hard copy !l

For short works, it's okay to read pdf !l
But when it comes to novels or plays… you'll find it difficult to complete the work..
because it's tiring and boring in the same time.l

    ^^ but there's a solution for everything :P
Have you ever tried listening and reading at the same time ?!l

Most of masterpiece books are available in an audible copy .. just download the story a soft copy (pdf) then download the (mp3) file of it

I've read Frankenstein in this way within a day :P … it's veryyyy interesting and saves your time and efforts : D
    ..

the best website ever in reading books is

they are not reading only, but living the role itself

    in the end,
    try to follow these steps
    and you won't be
    bored by reading

I have read one of [Sherlock Holmes'] adventures in English, called "A Study in Scarlet".
I read it in a PDF format and it really took me a long time to finish it since I felt it boring lots of times to read on PC.
just as you said especially reading in English as it's much slower for me. So, it was my first and only up till now.
But, after finishing it, I really felt so satisfied with that rich experience.
I hope I would do it again but this time with written books as my eyes are complaining since a while.
Thanks for you from deep hearts, I almost don't visit the English society of MSOMS at all but I am pleased to have read yours.
    Best regards.

    Hallo there
I'd thank you prof.Nino for this great topic
I like reading but nowadays I focus on specific topics and English is a small part of that specification
you offered a beautiful way to make reading much joyful and I of course follow this way
I read novels and my favorite ones were

Crime And Punishment By Fyodor Dostoevsky
Pride and Prejudice By Jane Austen
The Picture Of Dorian Gray By Oscar Wilde
    Hamlet By William Shakespeare

and I with you when you said that it's the main source of background of vocabularies
person's mind won't be the same after he\she read a book
and measure that by the number of books you read

I appreciate your effort here, regards

    a play??

No in fact it's a novel but in the book I saw that it's written a story ?

When I read the novel, I found it more joyful and beautiful or I can say much power and effective as opposite to the story
The story is nice too, but it's less effective, BTW, I haven't read an Arabic novel yet^ ^, I jumped on English from the first
    That's it: )
