Peace be upon you guys
How r u everyone, hope u r ok and happy, this topic is as English words topic but here we'll put English idiom with one or two example for define it correctly and no problem use Arabic for the meaning of that idiom, of course this will be as a game, I add my idiom here then you come in the next comment to add ur idiom too and so on, we learn English, participat and discuss so let us enrich our knowledge and learn more about this part"Idioms" and use it in our writing, this will make the text more beautiful, hope you like that and benefit, PBUY^ ^1

قرة العين, أعز شييء = Apple of someone's eye
Meaning:1
A person or thing which is greatly loved or someone very special to you
Eexample:1
She is the apple of her father's eye

I love idioms and I will try to participate as much as I can, though I might not know the Arabic equivalence of some of them, but I will try my best.l

الطيور على أشكالها تقع
Birds of feather, flock together

meaning
people of the same sort can be found together

example:l

Mohammed: Hey Omar, Ahmed is a bad person.l
Omar: how did you know?l
Mohammed: he always hangs out with bad people.l
Omar: so?l
Mohammed: Birds of feather, flock together.l

it is the word (cake ) !

when you say that something is a piece of cake you mean that this is an easy and simple thing to do

e.g. " The mission was a piece of a cake"

عبارة " a piece of cake"

توحي بشيء من السهل القيام به

العصفورة الصغيرة أخبرتني = A little bird told me
Meaning:1
If someone doesn't want to say where they got some info from, they can say that a little bird told me
Example:1
the son said: my dad how did you know I succeeded in math
the father said: a little bird told me

ok ... i have another idiom

It is : ( lead down the garden path )

we use this idiom when we deceive someone

for example : " He has led her down to the garden path and took talk all her money "

THE MEANING IN ARABIC :

نستخدم هذا المصطلح للدلالة على القيام بخداع شخص ما ...

تعني كثرة الكلام بدون فعل All talk and no trousers
Meaning:1
Someone who is all talk and no trousers, talks about doing big, important things, but doesn't take any action.
Example:1
our neighbor speaks too much but he doesn't does anything, then his speaking are All talk and no trousers

means: to be very nervous before doing something


EX: He always have butterflies in his stomach before he goes on stage


In Arabic: متوتر

it has a story of the bird dodo

يشارك ( شخصا ) في السراء و الضراء, يسانده

for example : You have to cast your lot with your friend whatever happens

Caught red handed + caught with his pants down XD
قبض عليه بالجرم المشهود
they say it when someone is caught doing something he/she shouldn't

example

The thief was caught red handed (or with his pants down), the police saw him stealing the necklace

Neighbor before the house ...

In Arabic : الجار قبل الدار

we say that if some one search for house , and one of important things in this house

is the neighbor who must be polite and respected

I hope it is correct
