Welcome everyone
We have a new quiz

As you might noticed, the quizzes are getting more difficult every week
That's normal as we need to narrow down the winners and see who deserves the first three spots

Rules

You should have at least 50 participations so you can send private messages

Each quiz will last only a week and the answers should be written and sent to me in a private message

Every week, we will have a different type of quiz, vocabulary, certain grammar rules... etc

You can discuss your answers after the end of submission time (deadline) and not before the end of the quiz, if you did so, you will be banned from getting the points of the week

How does this work?l

I will give the questions here

You take them and answer them, preferably alone without any help from outside or the internet

I will grade your answers and give a point for each correct answer which will be calculated untill the end of the month and we will have our monthly top three
If the quizes were successful, we will make official and start in beginning of the new year with a two month, 8 quize marathon to determine who would be our top three in the competition to win their deserved medals

By the end of the week, I will announce the grades and show you the corrects answers with explanation

We still have at least 8-9 quizzes untill the end of February
theres is a big chance form every one to catch up and win at the end

the first time is the longest (three months), but the next ones will be two months each

I think my mark is 17.5/20

First: Swap has two pronunciations one of them is the same as dog

as letter " O " in dog is the same as letter " A " in swap

and if you look for swap in the Dictionary you'll see that

They are different
because the sound of the (o) in dog is the same as it's written in the standard English, and the a in wasp is the same as it's written

you're correct if we said them in different accents
if we said (dog) in an accent and the other one in another accent and that's not possible because we should use one accent or the standard English not mix them
anyways, I'll mark both answers correct this time




The default method of solving this question is to use each word only one time

and we use " Keep " in the third sentence because it is an expression

so in the fourth sentence the suitable word from the left words is " Give "


That's the default when I give you the exact number of choices
If I gave you four words, and there are four blanks, then you're right, but I gave you more than three choices and three blanks


if we say " Keep your feet warm " it means

تبقيها أو تجعلها دافئة

and if we say give your feet warm it means

تعطيها الدفء

and I think they both have the same meaning
That's not correct
If you used (give) then it's wrong because it would be like this

give your feet warmth

we use the noun not the adjective



If anyone wants to discuss something, discuss them here not on private so everyone could learn and discuss, too

As I said before, there are more than one possible answer for some of the questions. If they are right, you will get the mark, if not, you won't get the mark
you'll get what you deserve, so no worries about that
some parts could be flexible like the one of dog and wasp and newspaper... etc

In the part of phonics I have a note concerning the tow words
Lion and Tiger

Lion = [ˈl aɪ ən]b= triphthong
Tiger = [ˈt aɪ gə]i= diphthong

so as you see we have different sounds which make them different not same in pronunciation

You can't write more than one answer, I know it's possible to have more than one, but you have to choose one and I think that's a common sense and I didn't need to tell you that
So, if you wrote more than one answer, the answer is considered wrong

Expelled or fired are wrong, if they were correct, I would write them as they are instead of replacing them with left which mean that the employee left the job by himself

retire and retired are two different words with different meanings

The question was clear, I asked you to give me a short form from the words you see, not the synonyms or words that have the same meanings
Television (TV) not screen, monitor... etc
newspaper (paper) not daily... etc

Maybe it's better for me and everyone if we have quizzes with no chance of having more than one possible answer
Then, I should mark the answer wrong if one letter is wrong, then no one can say you're wrong
That's better than all the exceptions I made for many answers, and the big exception I made especially for you


Take it easy sir , I'm sure he ment nothing more than talking to a close friend
you are doing great and I'm indeed thankful , but you know when it comes to answers and marks the issue is a bit sensitive

I understand what you are saying but it's still makes me feel sad

In exams when we are not sure of our answer we always write two answers one right and one wrong in order to make our teacher choose
the correct one and give us the full marks
