Rules
You should have at least 50 participations so you can send private messages
Each quiz will last only a week and the answers should be written and sent to me in a private message
Every week, we will have a different type of quiz, vocabulary, certain grammar rules... etc
You can discuss your answers after the end of submission time (deadline) and not before the end of the quiz, if you did so, you will be banned from getting the points of the week
http://images.msoms-anime.net/images/13705636762746821222.jpg
How does this work?l
I will give the questions here
You take them and answer them, preferably alone without any help from outside or the internet
I will grade your answers and give a point for each correct answer which will be calculated untill the end of the month and we will have our monthly top three
By the end of the week, I will announce the grades and show you the corrects answers

Peace be upon you all
I'm really sorry for being too late this time
I know you're all looking forward the results
Here the ideal answers
A.1
Article
Adjective
Noun
adverb
preposition
conjunction
pronoun
A.2
To mean
Meaning
meant
B.1
period
age or era
era or age
time
spell
best to describe weather or winds
B.2
Answers
Racket
sound
it's the only correct one as the sound of the rivers are something enjoyable not bad
noise(s)l
as there could be one kind of noises ore more than one
din or racket
din is the usual word used with instruments
noise
it's correct to use this word without adding the article (a) before it
ÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜ
And here are the results
The first three are still the same, and those who didn't make to this quiz were disqualified automatically by default
The rule still goes for the next last three quizzes, if you miss one, you miss it all

What the ???
How embarrassing !
I knew my answers won't be all correct coz I did the quiz on a hurry
but not that incredibly bad though
I indeed messed up with the last part
either ways thanks
I wanna ask about something
You know your last Q was kinda confusing to me
Now , how can I be certain when choosing the word racket rather than noise c
to describe a real noise which can be implied by these two correct words?n
As with the word noise to describe the car's racket
I chose sound , and when I did I imagined there was a man stuck in the middle of nowhere and his car is making a strange sound and he is in the dark not knowing what the real problem is , just a sound and not necessarily noise
that's why I chose sound rather than noise ^^
can you explain please ?
but don't worry , other mistakes were mistakes and I made them coz I was a bit ignorant in that field

Yes, I marked it as correct
You know your last Q was kinda confusing to me

Sorry about that
the quiz had to be challenging more than the usual by using words close to each other but different in some ways
Racket
usually used for unknown mixed noises in other place than where we stand or sit
like when we sit in a restaurant and we hear a lot of noises outside but we don't know exactly what they are, they are not just noises, but other mixed sounds with them
it's actually hard to explain as the answers vary in their true specific meanings
you may think that racket is suitable for your choice, but that's not the case here. Racket is more suitable and correct for the ideal answer
as when I said that din or racket could be used but I wrote the best first as well as in era or age + age or era
Eventually, you had 5 choices and you had to choose carefully as they are all can be used
some of them can fit in more than one place, but there are others that have a stronger meaning if used
That's the point of the quiz
I think who got the perfect mark thought about that and compared the,, and maybe did a little research and answered base on that
you're still in good position as we don't know what will happen in the next 3 quizzes insha'Allah
^_^

Look
this is my answer
Mean 1-mean (infinitive) 2-meaning (-ing) 3- has/have meant (past participle)l
it is wrong or right ?
+
with reason
mohbaboo
19-1-2012, 07:06 PM
mean (infinitive)
The infinitive is
to mean
we use (mean) alone when it's in a context or a sentence
when any infinitive represented alone then we have to add the steam of the verb which is preceeded by (to)l
Good luck
