1-Put one's foot down : take firm & determined action
2- Put one's best foot forward : proceed as quickly as possible
3- A fool proof: so simple & strong that even a fool can't use it wrongly or break it
4- a fool's errand : a useless journey

.I would like to say thanks to everybody who's participated here so far
and I'm really sorry for being absent for long.
It is true that idioms usually do not receive a big attention
and also they are not a big part of the formal structure
However, they are still a vital part of the language
^^ and we must have a good background about them
Here is a funny idiom which I like very much:
To knock sb's head together
means: To force two people to reach an agreement
