my prof said that the word ( God )beginning with a capital letter related to the Christianity, so we shouldn't use it

another prof said that we can use it but beginning with a capital letter to refer to (Allah),

that god with small letter indicates to many (gods) rather than the one

which is the right one?

when you say God, in your mind you know who you're talking about (Allah)l
but when you say god, you talk about the word itself, not someone specific

for example
for some religions, when we talk about them, we say about their gods (god)l
but for them, they God as they have a specific god in their minds

and the opposite for us
they say god to ours
and we say God to ours

but we, Muslims, use the God's name (Allah) so we clear any possible misunderstanding with other religions' gods

حسناً أخي هي الآن وردتني في هذه الجملة في أحد القصص There were zero hits for that query

لم أفهمها أرجو أنك تساعدني 0

معناها (لم تكن هناك اية نتيجة لسؤالي أو بحثي)
hits جاءت بمعنى تقني اي عندما تبحثين في محركات البحث فيكون هناك نتائج وتسمى hits
او كما في بعض المواقع مثل ask yahoo الخاص بياهوو حيث تضعين سؤالا وتنتظرين الاجابة من اي شخص اخر
والاجابة تسمى hit
ومثلا عندما تضعين موضوعا فان عدد المشاهدات يسمى ايضا hits

اتمنى تكون وضحت الفكرة والكلمة هذه لها معاني كثيرة سواء كاسم او فعل
يمكن ان تضعي الجملة السابقة والتاليه لها لتتوضح اكثر ان كانت اجابتي غير مناسبة لسؤالك ^_^

i dont have the same idiom but i have a similar one in my dic, it could help u
but with replacing the word (earth) with (moon)
i think the meaning wont change, i am not sure of this ^^
so it becomes : "howling at the moon"
if u say that someone is howling at the moon, you mean he is wasting his time and energy trying to do something which is impossible .
that is what i have ,,,,
